Intimidating the Woman HRD by City magistrate

Chingari is unregistered social organization created by local people to help each other in the district of Banda, Uttar Pradesh. Ms. Mubeena a WHRD received letter from Mr. Rajesh Kumar, City magistrate Banda district mentioning that it is invalid organization as well as collecting rent illegally from government. He insisted to vacate the house belong to District Urban Development Agency (DUDA).

In her reply Ms. Mubeena questioned that which Law prohibit the unregistered organization to work for the people. Moreover, she stated that “what about lakhs of self-help groups working in the country”. She is also ready to present malpractice of DUDA officials and list of illegal occupants of Kanshiram colony, Banda. of   Mr. Mr. Rajesh Kumar threatened her to vacate the house or otherwise it will be done with use of police force.  The immediate reason for the harassment and intimidation was reaction to her RTI, which she filed in the month of February, 2023.

HRDA India is concern about WHRD security and apprehensive about indifferent attitude of district official towards woman HRD and their work.

So we Sincerely appeal to the Commission to take appropriate following action.

  1. To direct the Director General of Police of Uttar Pradesh to initiate an immediate, independent, thorough, transparent and impartial investigation into the above- mentioned matter and submit a report within four weeks.
  2. To direct the Director General of Police of Uttar Pradesh to ensure that the HRDs are not subject to any harassment and intimidation by the police and others as well as ensure the safety of woman HRD.
