Attempt to murder and continuous attack by builder mafia

HRDA has issued an urgent appeal to the National Human Rights Commission of India on January 29 in the case of Mr. Mohabbat Ali Ansari who has been targeted by the builder mafia for filing a writ petition in the Bombay High Court on irregularities in construction. He is a resident of Juhu Azad Nagar Society and has been fighting against irregularities in the redevelopment of Juhu Azad Nagar Society.

According to sources, Mr. Ansari was attacked by three unidentified persons on January 16, 2017, near the Shoppers Stop at Juhu Lane in Mumbai. The attackers fled from the spot and Mr. Ansari was rushed to a hospital. He was severely injured and has been treated with 40 stitches. This was the third attack in a span of two weeks. The second was brutal and has been recorded in a CCTV camera. In the CCTV footage, Mr. Ansari is chased on a motorbike by five persons and is pushed down on the road after which the perpetrators attacked him with some sharp object in a crowded road in the Juhu area of Mumbai. No one came into his rescue.
